Weekly Quote:
“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, and how you can still come out of it.” ~ Maya Angelou
Contemplation:
~ Every time you willfully choose not to engage in problematic use you get stronger. Every time you get stronger you increase the energy and resources required to pursue the things you want to do in your life. Perhaps one of the main arguments for willfully choosing to do this is to increase resilience autonomy and power. It can feel like you’re fighting off Godzilla, and we may not believe it’s even possible if we didn’t already know that others have succeeded before you. They absolutely have, and some of them have been in far dire circumstances than you and felt far less capable – yet they have succeeded. And the best part is, all the troubles you have experienced along the way (as Ms. Angelou tells us) are useful to us now…so give yourself a break and focus on today.
Tip for the Week:
~ Raise awareness…be intentional about accepting your whole story and using it to your advantage. You are not the only person in the world with struggles – be kind to yourself. Challenge yourself to feed into the power of knowing you can act in your best interest in those challenging moments – build upon your successes small or big. Simply choosing to show up counts…..
