For Providers

Andrew John Tucker

Hello,

From your practice to mine, I welcome you. My name is Andrew and I’m an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, and Recovery. My years on busy Psychiatric Hospital Units taught me firsthand the benefits of care coordination. When patients feel confident, everyone wins.

As one example, a study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology found that combining Psychotherapy with Pharmacotherapy was more effective than either treatment alone in reducing symptoms of depression (Lam, R. W., Parikh, S. V., & Bond, D. J. (2020)

Another study published in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment found that those who received individual therapy following inpatient treatment had significantly better outcomes in terms of substance use and mental health compared to those who did not receive individual therapy (S. K. Killeen, and R. L. Stout, 2018)

Outcomes improve when patients have a team systemically supporting them, and that team should be easy to work with and talented. A bit about me as you consider your options:

I’m a former Crew Member and Manager of large-budget theatre and music Productions turned Ivy League-educated Psychotherapist. I bring an eclectic mix into sessions, from standard CBT to Motivational Interviewing to conversations with the various parts of self through Transformational Chairwork. I have over a decade of experience as a group facilitator, individual therapist, case manager, and supervisor to graduate-level interns entering the field. I am deeply invested in the changes people make.

I have dedicated hours in a beautifully appointed West Midtown office for in-person therapy sessions. I also provide services via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that my patients have described as easy to access, convenient to their busy schedules, and conducive to the therapeutic process. I am an out-of-network provider. In a gesture of support, I provide clients with a monthly superbill so they can submit out-of-network claims for reimbursement directly to them.

I offer relatable supportive authenticity that encourages easy-flow productive conversation as we measure progress. Mandela said, “it always seems impossible until it is done.” I agree. “Seems” is an interesting word.

I would be happy to discuss working together on the phone, zoom or come by for a visit to your office. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
